01What drives the cost of a website?
Four things make the biggest difference:
- Number of pages and amount of content. A five-page site is a different project from one with thirty service and location pages.
- Custom functionality. A quote form that lands straight in your admin, a booking module or a customer login costs more than a contact form.
- Content management. If you want to edit text, photos and projects yourself, we build an admin around your content. It is extra work up front, but it saves you an email to the developer every time something changes.
- Who supplies the copy and images. Content that is ready to go makes a project faster and more predictable.
02One-off and monthly: what are you paying for?
A website has two kinds of cost: building it and keeping it running.
| Cost | What it covers | At Vorteca |
|---|
| One-off investment | Design, build, technical SEO foundation, launch | From €950 (Launch) or €1,950 (Growth), excl. VAT |
|---|
| Monthly | Hosting, monitoring, security updates, technical maintenance | Vorteca Core from €25/month |
|---|
| Optional | Help with content, optimisation, further development | Care Plus €99, Growth Care €199, Partner Care €349/month |
|---|
When comparing quotes, check what the monthly fee actually includes. A low build price with separate charges for hosting, updates and small changes often costs more after a year.
03Template, page builder or custom build?
- A website builder such as Wix or Squarespace: the lowest entry price, but you are tied to the platform and its subscription, and speed and SEO are hard to tune.
- WordPress with a theme: flexible and widely used, but plugins and updates need maintenance. A site that goes unpatched for years becomes a security risk.
- Custom: a higher one-off investment, but the site is built around your business, loads fast and can grow into a client portal or CRM without starting over.
Vorteca deliberately builds without themes or page builders. That way a portal, CRM or dashboard can later sit on the same codebase, and you don't pay for the foundation twice.
04How long does it take?
A straightforward business site is usually live within three to five weeks. Add content management or an enquiry flow and plan for six to eight weeks. After the intake you get a schedule with fixed milestones.
05What is included as standard?
Every Vorteca site comes with a technical SEO foundation built in: speed, metadata, canonicals, a sitemap and structured data. Ongoing SEO, such as writing content and link building, is a separate arrangement.
06Real-world example: from website to a full CRM
For Hoveniersbedrijf Peter van der Linden, a landscaping business, it started with a custom website. Behind it we built a complete CRM: customer management, a calendar, a quoting system where customers review and accept their quote online, invoicing and a financial overview. Peter also manages the website himself, and every service and project automatically gets its own findable page.
The result since go-live in late June 2026: a quote is ready in twenty minutes at most instead of whole evenings in Word, 25 invoices have been sent and 18 already paid, on average within 12 days, and 56% of quotes were accepted.
Because the website and the CRM share one foundation, everything is in one place and the separate spreadsheets are gone. That is the real advantage of custom work: start with a website and grow without rebuilding.
